I'm a straight male. I've given it a lot of thought and I've decided that I want to be gay. I really like girls, but I know that being gay is a choice, so I figure I can be gay if I want to. All I have to do is chose.

I'm hoping that some of those homosexuals who are always busy trying to advance the gay agenda will tell me all about how wonderful being gay is and help me in my choice to stop likin' girls and start likin' boys.

I'm ready! All I need is a couple of homosexual agenda folks to come and sign me up for the gay lifestyle. I don't want to like girls anymore. I chose to be gay. Can anybody here help?

And honest, I am straight as an arrow now. I really am. But it's a choice, right? Well, I chose to be gay! So when do I get to start likin' boys?

boy , a lot of folks answering your question are stupid. cuz they seem to think that youre saying being gay is a choice....theyre not catching the irony in your question. youre actually saying just the opposite.......... youre gay. and trying to prove that it isnt a choice--very transparent.

First of all I admire your understanding of homosexuality and to an extent defending it. Unfortunately most people here are too lazy to investigate or read your previous posted messages about homosexuality. I have read your messages about homosexuality and found it intriguing. You keep on saying that being homosexual is not a choice, the same with straight people. What made you decide to be gay? As you have said it is not a simple choice. Your brain is not a computer you can reformat and have a new orientation. Actually I would rather see you straight than gay.

Gay is not a choice, it is something you are born with. Gay people tell you this and scientific research backs them up. You can choose to be Gay, true...only if you are bisexual by nature. I am not sure you are interested in knowing because you sound like you are taking the piss in your question. But if you want to read the science behind this, then read on.

There are several theories as to why a person is gay. The most prominent I have read is a work by Simon Le Vay. He determined - through autopsy - that gay men and straight men have one single difference: the size of their hypothalamus (a gland in the middle of your brain and well known to be the source of sexual stimulation in human beings). With gay men it is small and fluffy were as in straight men, it is solid and large. He repeated this experiment with lesbian and straight women and found the reverse. Straight women had small/fluffy gland were as lesbian has large/denser gland.
So hypothalamus size wise:
Gay men = Straight women
Lesbian women = Straight men

Following years of studies, he determined that this gland is developed before birth. When he examined pregnant mothers during period of pregnancy he found that this gland gets developed during the 6th month of pregnancy. If the mother body thinks she has a daughter, she would give Oestrogen (female hormone). If she thinks she has male son, she would give Testosterone (male hormone). For some un-explained reason, the mother would give the wrong hormone. Depending on how long this hormone is given, the child may come up as Bisexual, straight acting gay guy, camp gay guy, or in extreme cases transsexual (a person who believes he is in the wrong body!).

Research into how to determine why this switch happens has been blocked. From one side, the church and religious groups would not accept it (because this would mean centuries of prosecuting gay/lesbians was a crime but more importantly it is a serious shake to their belief). From the other side, gay groups have pressured government and other organisation not to proceed in such research because this would mean there is a way to eliminate gays from existence! Hosptial scans can determine if a mother has son/daugther and a simple blood test can deterimine what hormone the mother is giving. The latest work as done by an Italian scientist two years ago who tried to determine if the mother had a genetic differences that results in this switch and managed to find some correlation in that most mothers with gay/lesbian children had actually gay/lesbian brothers and sisters!

See it is much more complicated that this but I hope I explained to you in best possible way. And if you are wandering how a bisexual man/woman hypothalamus would look, well it is medium size/denisty, they got mix of hormones and thus they would like both!

So if you are bisexual by nature, you have once or twice or maybe more fancies men...then you have a choice. Otherwise, you are wasting your time.

not to sound rude but you are ignorant. being gay is not a choice. you can't just wake up one morning and say "hey, why don't I be gay?". Sorry buddy it just not that simple, I am gay and I know as much as I tried to like guys I couldn't so you can't stop liking girls and just turn to boys. That in it self makes no kind of sense. I don't think you really want to be gay I think you just posted this question on here to be sarcastic or you're a homophobe. Either way its not appropriate for this part of answers yahoo. How about you stay straight and leave being gay to the real gay people.

happy holidays :-)

Sorry, you are not allowed to be gay.

1. You don't know how to wear clothes properly.

2. Your home is a pig sty.

3. You don't know how to dance.

4. You're too right wing.

5. You have the sensitivity of a mosquito.

6. Girls aren't attracted to you.

7. The after-shave you wear smells like bug spray.

8. You don't know a rose from a carnation.

9. You can't cook.

10. You've got an abnormally small penis.

Sorry, but your dream will never come true.

Contrary to belief, being gay is not a choice. For most people it is something natural. They are naturally attracted to the same sex.

Once you start dating the same sex, you might not find any enjoyment if you see it as a choice. Ask yourself specifically why you want to be gay. It could be covering up for something else.

You don't just get "signed up" in the gay lifestyle- Educate yourself more about being a homosexual, because it seems you are pretty clueless.

Be who you want to be; no one has any right to tell you otherwise; there's a lot of different aspects to how someone becomes gay; no two are always the same. If you want to be Gay, go for it, its your happiness that is important the heck with anyone else

An interesting question!

I am a gay man and not quite sure where you get the idea that is is about "choice" - you are turned on by what turns you on.

Male / Female / Both.

I am sure that 6 pints of larger and a cute lad will help you to sample such things - but it is nomore likely to "make you gay" than getting me ratted ad plonking some bint on my bed would turn me straight!

Good luck in whatever you are trying to do :)

You have to prepare yourself first. It'a not one choice; it's a series of choices. Start off small; throw all the Gatorade out and change to still bottled water. Then, go through your MP3 collection and get rid of anything that's got a bass guitar in it. Bin the tighty-whities and get boxer-briefs. You see how easy it's getting? By now, you should be checking out guys butts to see if they have visible panty line and trying to figure out how low can saggers wear their pants before they drop to their ankles. Then, you'll start stalking saggers to see this happen. Frustrated by lack of success, you'll begin looking a pics of guys in their underwear - and now you're well on the way to being gay.

Well done! The talent scouts of The Gay Recruiters will have no difficulty in finding you. Helped by their state-of-the-art gaydars, they cannot but help but be drawn to you.

Of course, it may be that the chemicals in your brain have set your predisposition and you'll have to accept that you're a normal kid who is envious of a classmate getting on better with girls - but that's because he's gay, right?

But I'm going to go with... you're taking the piss. (Well done on the sarcasm, though, that's a powerful gay weapon and can be a source of great good or great evil. Use it responsibly.)

OMG...it's almost 2007 and some numbskull thinks it's a choice. Hmm..let me see...you think I would choose a lifestyle that allows for me to be discriminated at a job, or the potential to be gay bashed or even worse shun by my family.

To be honest, the only "agenda" I have is for homophobes, racists and bigots to learn the basic tenet of Christ, "Love one another as I have loved you".

Peace, Tigger
