I was ironing my pyjamas on the floor and i burnt my carpet accidently,it's new and a light color so now it looks a mess,is there anything i can do?

If the carpet has a very feep pile and the burn is only light - then you could TRY and "snip" just the top part of the burnt pile of - it is still going to be visible but less so than a brown burn mark.

Another option if you have some off cut - is to CAREFULLY cut around the burn (use a tin / bowl etc) and then cut out a new "patch" from the offcut. If the carpet has a fairly tall pile - AND you get the grain in the right direction - it should be ALMOST invisible - and again MUCH less messy than it is now.

If the carpet is a short pile, then I suggest you do NOT use the patch method - the patch will be CLEARLY visible and will look almost as grim as the burn mark.

If its just the "tips" and not a flat burn...perhaps you could use an electric shaver to "LIGHTLY" shave off the burnt tips. Otherwise as the previous person noted a area rug would do well as a cover.

Call the carpet company where you bought your carpet and see if he can fix your carpet! Else get a pretty throw rug!
