I ordered a Dell Inspirion 8600 laptop and I have had very good performance out of it. Be careful of buying ancillary products from them because they may sell you something that is considered old technology, which is what happened to me when I also ordered a cordless mouse. As far as a warranty, most products already come with a one-year warranty, so you may not need it. I worked for a company that sold warranties for the products they carried. The warranties were seen as almost pure profit.

Hey, I don't know what you will be using your laptop for most, but I will tell you that if you're going to be playing a lot of games on your laptop, then go for a sony, not a Dell. Also when ordering a Dell off their web site, you want to really take your time and check what you are ordering because of former problems that Dell has had with thier batteries and thier flimsy cases.

I have not had any problems with my dell inspiron b130. i would recomend getting the waranty but other than that dells are fricken awesome. The only problem i have ever had was a router problem but dell was able to fix it for me it had nothing to do with the notebook. And the post a couple above me with the one about the bad support i dont know what they are talking about that is how they fixed my router over the phone remotely. They have awesome support.
