im going to buy a laptop today and wanted to know which one you guys think is better. its between a toshiba satellite a105-s4384. this is a core duo 2 t5500, 1gb ddr ram, 160gb hard drive. or a dell inspiron e1505. this is a core duo 2 t5600, 1gb ddr ram, 80gb hard drive. i want to buy the one that is faster and will work great. i dont care about the hard drive size. tell me which one is more reliable.

You should care about hard drive size. 160 is a newer generation of technology than the 80. It's faster and will make more of a speed difference than a few hundred megahertz of CPU speed. I've bought 8 Toshiba Satellites and 16 Dell Latitudes for my business, and had one of each quit. Both were repaired under warranty with no problem. The Latitude is just a little sturdier version of the Inspiron.

Dell. Becase dells have great customer support and great components. Toshibas just seem so low end and cheapy.

I've only had experience with the Dell products, and they are a good value for the money.

i would see which one has the better screen and better graphics ... then go to price to decide if those are the same ... i doubt theres much difference in speed between the two ..
