Just had a interior reduction surgery where a steel plate was put on the fibula and a screw in the ankle to keep it in place due to a complete dislocation of the foot from the ankle and a broken fibula. Surgery was on Sunday night and even now when I get up from bed (foot is elevated the enitre time, cleaned twice a day and iced 3 times a day for 30 minutes) my foot throbs and feels like pins and needles like so bad sometimes that it keeps me in bed. How long does that last? I get the staples out on Thursday but just the feeling of the blood rushing to that area when I am up right has me wanting to keep my butt in bed. I am good with pain though. When it happened I was in pain but cracking jokes to keep my mind off it. They even tried to put it back in the socket with no pain meds before they even knew my fibula was broken and it sucked but I tolerated it. Anyone out there offer any sound advice minus the smart *** remarks? Thx to those that do.
