The binary number system is used throughout the computing industry. But what is the origin of why the binary system is used in computing? Why not just use base 10. Here's a clue "TTL".

TTL means transistor-transistor logic. A TTL circuit can have two states, high or low, which correspond to 1 and 0.

Because electric and electronic circuits have two positions or states - on and off.

And if your bio summary is true, why would you not know this or why would you ask such a question?
