Why is it that whenever something starts becoming Black, it gets a bad reputation?

Seriously, at the mall my family used to shop at, the clientele has started becoming more and more Black...it used to be predominantly suburban White...but now mostly Black people shop there. Anyway, nobody I know shops there anymore and if you ask anyone what they think of the mall, they call it "ghetto and dangerous." This has happened with numerous other malls over the years...it also seems to happen with neighborhoods...as soon as Black people start moving in, everyone else starts moving out and that neighborhood is no longer considered good anymore. Why is that?

i do not have anything against anyone because of their skin color, but when i am walking to my house at night and i see 2 or 3 people in the middle of the summer wearing sweatshirts with the hoods up and pulled low over their eyes. i make sure that
i am ready for a fight, and looking for a weapon.

if they want to look like criminals then they will be treated as such.

however 3 to 4 black guys hanging out on the street in front of my house in regular cloths with their faces visible does not bother me at all.

I dont know, but we had a mall that they started kicking people out that wore similar clothing due to all the gang activity. Noone could wear the same kind or even color of shirt, hat, shoes, or whatever if they were there together.

now it just so happens that Most of the clientele was black, but that is not to say that onyl black people are involved in that because that would not be true. I dont know, I used to shop there all the time because it was convenient for me and I never felt threatened by anyone.

This is because many people profile Black people whether they mean to or not. When someone sees a black person the stereotypes that they're loud, obnoxious, involved in gangs, and etc., usually come to mind. They are also thought to be dangerous and spontaneous which doesn't help the reputation. Like one of the users said before, everyone with dark skin end up having to carry this burden around.

Then there are the people who are just plain racists and unwilling to change their way of thinking.

At the risk of being racist, may I ask, "Have you watched the 6:00 news at any TV station in the world?" Why is it that if whites comprise 70 percent and plus of the city, state, or world population, then why does the tv news report that about 95 percent of major crime is done by blacks?
Somebody please ease my mind, because I am extremely not prejudiced, but I'm not blind nor dumb.
What's up with that?

Just like at my neighborhood.There are more blacks and more problems.I have also noticed when you watch reality TV shows black women can't seem to get along with white women.I live in Chicago and I been living here all my life.I'm 16 yrs old.I have noticed the city changing.The more blacks the more gangs,problems,racism,and hanging on the streets.I can't even walk outside without blacks making fun of the way I look or walk.I really don't understand why blacks just can't get along with whites or other non-black groups.

They have the reputation of being dangerous & nasty. So where ever they go, they carrry that with them. Maybe that's the way they like it otherwise, they would try & change dontcha think?
