Im thouroughly fed up with my budgie Billy.
All it ever does is make stupid noises that mean nothing.Everytime I let him out of his cage, he flaps his wings furiously and actually gets nowhere except the floor.
Question is this... I live on the 14th floor. If I sling him out of the balcony window, would the height be sufficient to let him fly away or should i simply put him in the rubbish shute... Things might be different if only he could talk, but i hate him for just chirping away all day long.....

God, you sound really cruel and it sounds as if this problem you have with your pet could be the cause of the problem or at least exaserbating it. Had you maybe thought of taking your pet to the vet to see if there is something wrong with it - maybe a fractured bone in it's wing etc? My advice is this, budgies chirp - it's what they do. If you don't like that, then take him to a pets home and get a girlfriend if you want some one to talk to - please don't put your budgie in the rubbish shute - you'll kill it and if he does escape he clearly can't fly and will not know how to feeds itself so won't survive!

Well if he cant fly around the room I really dont think he would fly outside..not to mention that he wouldnt survive. If you had to live in a little cage all alone you would go mad as well. You got him as a pet..the bird didnt ask to live with you. Just because you are bored of him doesnt mean he should just be "thrown away" Find someone who WILL take care and appreciate him..maybe its you that should be put in the rubbish shute for "chirping" away moaning about some poor little bird that YOU decided to get in the first place. Animals just arent disposable things and they cant look after themselves in a cage...they are a responsibility. God I hope you never have children with your attitude! What will happen when you get bored of those as well?
