It depends on what ur gonna use the computer for. I use mine just for intermediate purposes like word processing, emailing, photoshopping etc. Whereas, my friend is completely into webdesigning and a mac is more suitable for him.

Finally, the answer 2 ur question is that it depends on the purpose.

Which company is better? Do mean operating system? I think both operating systems are actually as good as each other (Im referring to mac os 10 and windows xp/vista). Windows will always win for popularity as more people use windows than they do Macs, (yes the mac people will deny it, but its true), unfortunately because of this the majority of general software is more prevalent for the windows platform than the mac. Dont get me wrong macs have *always* been stronger than windows in the graphical applications - most graphic houses will still use mac as opposed to windows pcs, but nearly everyone else will be windows.

Macs have been struggling of late, so much so that - and the mac camp will *Really* hate this - M$oft actually bought shares in Apple to make sure the company stays afloat and make sure there is 'competition' or windows will be seen more of monopoly (which is more or less is in the desktop world - not the server world though, in the server world it has to fight unix and linux and a little bit of novell)

apple, if you like speed, wonderful graphics and something last going to last. I learned my lesion after buying 2 Dells,I'm sick of fixing them. Plus with an apple, less virus
