Oh goodness, I just got home from my family's and its every famiyl gathering, I am the last one to either take the plunge or have a kid and I get crap about it constantly.
This year my mother spoke up and said that I wanted to make sure I found the right one and I finally spoke up and said
"no, thats not it, I just dont want to get married"
the entire table got quiet.
I gotta start speaking up more often

I am married now of my own choice... but remember very clearly the grief I got when i wasnt.
Not only relatives, there were families friends friends moms who would give me the pitiful look for being single at age 27!
My "Do not want to marry" went completely unheard.

I have got as many relatives telling me to get married as I have responses telling them to mind their own business.

For me it's mainly extended family relatives. They keep pestering me about things, saying stuff like, "Jane's married already and younger than you" or "Maybe you'd be more of a lady if you were married" and so on. It's gotten so bad, I actually don't like going to visit anymore. It's as if they don't accept me or things the way they are.

I have had a few people in the family not really forcing me to get married, but wondering when I will get married.

if any of my relatives told me to get married i would either yell or laugh at them because i am only 14 and shouldn't be thinking of marriage yet
