Yes I'm getting Vista. A good place to start if you're thinking of getting it is here:

This utility can tell you what hardware changes you need to make in order to run Vista, and it will check your current software to see if it is compatible with Vista. Most modern hard drives should be fine for Vista. The things you want to look at are the processor, video card (if you're going to be running the Aero interface) and how much RAM you have (it should be at least 1GB for anything other than Vista Basic)

I have Vista RC1 and it is great! I will buy it when it comes out. No I did not have to buy a special Hard drive. But your computer must meet requirements to install Vista. Vista is an awesome OS!

It does not require a ready drive. I will support ready drives. Vista will run great on any 40+GB hard drive or maybe 80+GB

Hi,
I would buy vista because of the increasing security flaws. Secondly, i might consider in upgrading my video card and RAM coz of the aero effect.

Hi. Not special, just large enough. Anything 120 GB and above should be plenty. I would go for at least 7200 RPM.

hard drive----- min. 40 gb 7200 rpm
ram------------ good performance ( 2 gb )
video card----with more ram buit in
processor ----min. intel 2 dual core atleast 1.6 ghz
This should be min. spec for vista.

nah...I've been using Windows 2000 since '98. I won't be changing my desktop OS for a while...
