I have a drive from my sisters computer that broke a cd disk and now I am having problems making it read dvds in general is there any way too correct this problem.

I also did an update too the drive.

I have checked the cables connecting it and they are firmly in.

I need too know if I can fix this drive too read dvds again because it is useless if I can't.

Using a CD that's not rated for the speed of the player.

Hi. I have read that some of the lower quality CD media can break under centrifugal load at the very high speed that some burners use, such as 52x. Set for a slower speed.

If a cd is spinning to fast and heating up it will cause it to shatter

turn off the laptop, open the case and unplug the capability to the damagedpersistent. turn on the laptop, that is going to basically know the DVDpersistent. as long as you have a DVD+-RW you're able to be returned in employer.
