We have had our turtle for 10+ years - today I noticed that it had not come down to eat for two days from his rock. I just looked and on both sides of his hind legs he is swelling. He moves his head but will not come off his rock to eat and I think the swelling (which never happened before) is preventing him to move - it is not too bad (but bad enough) yet but the way it looks doen't look good to me. Can someone tell me what they think it might be. Our vets here are closed til Tuesday because of holiday - even if it could ease him would be helpful.

This is an 'Urgent Care' forum at Turtle Forums. The folks here are very helpful and can offer you at least some help! You'll have to register, but it is free and very helpful.

It COULD be 'septicemia', a blood poisoning that can be tough to deal with- but it could be several other things as well.
