Yes, that happens very often. We have thirteen lunar cycles per year, but only twelve months each year. Therefore, we have one month every year that has two full moons. Also, the date you mentioned was not the only time in recorded history when there was a month with no full moon. Such months are always February, obviously, as it has only twenty-eight days (the length of a full lunar cycle). About every 30 years or so, February does not have a full moon.

As a moon month is 28 days, you may have maximum 2 full moons if it happens in the first days of a month.

1 usually but rarley you get the 28 day cycle happining twice in 1 month and that is called a 'blue moon' hence the term 'once in a blue moon' hope this helps
