It has nothing to do with their upbringing.........it is all in their will power...........their desire and urge to succeed........and most of the times they go sooo crazy after one certain thing that they will sacrifice everything they have for it.............then they find that they got no choice but to keep going.............and they are constantly intensifying the desire to succeed because they know that they either succeed or they are simply gonna die............Some people live their entire lives just for a certain thing.........they just decide that no matter what happens they will succeed in a particular field.........they grow desperate............but many give up when they meet with failure............and the only ones who follow beyond failure are ridiculed by the society................they are thought as mad............but they go on because they have no choice and all these forces only add to their desire and they eventually give it all and eventually succeed. Once they succeed the society is back by their side saying, "We always knew you can do it " !!!!!!!!!!!
It is more of a law of nature that no man will succeed unless he meets with temporary failure..................just like gold has to be burned in fire and melted before it is molded into ornaments.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take some time out and watch a small baby. It is not the only thing to watch for, but watching them learning to stand up and to walk is good. A baby will try to stand many times, often failing and going into the quick sit down mode! The baby does not give up. This happens with everything that a baby and a small child does, it is built in to us to try, fail, try, fail and so on.
I think that later in life we get to try things, and when we fail we analyze what has happened. Sometimes we just do not have the time, money or other resources to try something an unlimited number of times and so have to change our priorities.
We certainly take risks when we try things. It could be climbing a mountain, swimming a river or opening a new business. There are some people who will take more and bigger risks than others. This is partly natural and partly environment and upbringing. I do not think that there is a single answer but we all have the capacity to keep on going just like the baby.

Even naturally gifted people have to hone and develop their talents. A baby is a baby, no matter how gifted.
The refusal to accept failure, like the ability to play basketball, is not only a talent but also a learned ability. Of course, if one has certain physical 'gifts' one can learn to play basketball sooner (or play at a higher level sooner) than others, but that does not mean that other people can't play. The same is true with failure. Those who don't accept failure sooner are more likely to suceed sooner (if you don't accept failure, what other option is there) but success is not exclusive to them.
Getting beyond failure, I think, is the most fundamental human developmental skill we will ever possess. More so than any other, the refusal to accept failure (which is different than accepting that we failed) is what lies behind every other. No matter what it is we want, or need, to learn, we can never learn it if we accept the idea that we cannot learn it, or that it is beyond us. Even if there are those who learn things before us, the knowledge they possess is not exclusive to them (we were babies, but we were not the first babies, so what we learned someone already knew, eventhough we didn't know it yet.)

I think it's a combination of both experience and personality. Your tenacity can come from birth, but is further strengthened because of experiences.
Some people are born fighters, but a lot of fighters are also made because of the situations they're placed in. You don't become a fighter until you find yourself having to actually fight something tooth and nail. A person can be very quiet and timid, but when they're pushed to the brink, they realize how strong they are.
Sometimes when you're being pushed down all the time, your drive to succeed just gets stronger and you get so much hungrier for what seems to be evading you.

The environment influences the mind set of not excepting failure. We can learn from failure; learn we do not like it and strive for it not to happen again. I believe that environment is important in this, but so is genetics. It is the primary goal of the species to succeed and survive, in order to prevail we must not fail, we must learn and we must adapt. For most people the social environmemt will take care of most things it is only the really driven who are influenced by both genetics and social environment that will not accept failure

There is no individual social being that, in the long process of perfection, always succeeds. All human beings continue to perfect, economize. There is no such thing as stopping. We all continue to be what we are. The relativities that allow different perspectives the ability to conceive a behavior as having stopped are erroneous and in their own way failures.

I think early success can train the mind to expect it but those used to winning have to cope with losing sometime. the best is success and failure how can you learn without it.
