Naturally, at this time of year, as the christmas movies approach, I live in fear that ET may suddenly stalk my screen. Its a weird problem I know, and I am deadly serious.. If i see a picture of the friendly alien, I will jump, scream or make a shocked noise, followed by crying but also laughing because I realise this is rediculous. But the odd bit is, once ive seen the picture I am perfectly fine, and can look at it as many times as I want after ive known its there as I have prepared myself and will expect to see ET, it is literally the shock of seeing ET that causes those stupid reactions. I can quite happily type in ET into a search engine and look at pictures, as long as I am prepared for it!
I was scared as a child, and I have never grown out of the fear.
Can anyone explain my weirdness?
Is it a 'phobia', as I am not actually scared of ET, its just the weird jumping and screaming and crying that makes me wonder!
Has anyone else got a similar fear?

lol u just have a natural shock reaction as long as u know its coming look at a photo of him in november and repeat that every week til xmas from now on and u wont suffer any more embarrestment lol its ok i have a phobia of feet so what do u think is worse u bieng shocked at ET or me screaming and throwing up everytime anyone puts there feet near me lol merry xmas

Maybe some sessions of regressive hypnotherapy might bring the truth to the surface. My ex used to jump when she saw me in the mirror in the hallway because she used to date my brother who had died. I think she learned to close the bathroom door before she divorced me though.If you have panic attacks and other phobias you should consider some kind of therapy to help find some closure anyway. Mine was just simple abduction scenarios. I'm sorry I lost all those neat gadgets they used to give me. Be Gooooooood!

you might of seen ET when you were a kid, and you were frightened then. Now, you just remember that time you saw it when you were young, and have a phobia of it.
