Depends a lot on the format you'll be playing and on your budget. Also what type of deck you're aiming for. Black/Red can be a strong land destruction deck, a control deck, an agro deck with fast creatures and direct damage, or a combo deck of some sort.

To get a really good answer, I'd first refine my ideas a bit past red/black to a more solid deck concept. Then I'd go to a Magic related forum such as one of these:

it depends on what you want to do with it i used to play black and red control with creature removal, land destruction, discard cards, and megrims the object is to keep opponent from playing anything. throw in some big creatures with haste to get in some attacks i used a lot of viashinos 4/1 at end of combat return them to your hand. and other stuff like that.
