I am not a physical or intimate person and I would rather be intimate in private versus in public. My gf likes to hold hands in public, which i don't mind, but I really don't like it when she touches my breast or anything like that in public. Is this normal behavior or is she really over the top?

I don't know if this heterosexual guy's opinion counts, but I'll offer it anyways...lol
I think everyone is different and one aspect of any relationship is respect. I think if you made your g/f aware that you feel uncomfortable with it, then she needs to respect your feelings.
However, maybe she's wanting to know if you're embarrassed to be lesbian. I can't personally relate, but I'm sure one issue in homosexual relationships is that one person might need to feel validated in a society that rejects this type of relationship. Maybe she's after the security that you're not afriad to be seen with her. I know as a married man, that my wife is sometimes sensitive to whether or not I'm holding her hand in public and she'll jokingly ask me if I'm afraid to be seen with her. Since I love her, I'm concerned about how she feels, so I gladly hold her hand. Is this a similar thing with your girlfriend?
Honestly though, the best thing you can do is talk to her and get her feelings on the matter and express your feelings.
Like I said, I'm not sure if it helps, but I hope so.

I think it is normal. I am not personally offended by that. Nor am I offended when I see hetro couples getting a little too hot and heavy in public. But I think there is a time and place for that sort of thing--and this does not have anything to do with sexual orientation.
I do not think your gf is over the top. This type of thing has become increasingly common--again regardless of sexual orientation. However, I guess I am old fashioned, and just think it is best for everyone to get intimate in private.

I'm not a Lesbian, or female for that fact, but touching like that in any relationship is a bit over the top. In public anyway.
Hold Hands = Fine. All couples do this, no matter what the sexuality.
Touching in Public = Not really. To me at least, that's bit over the top.

But I'd say yer girliefriend likes to show off, attract attention etc, dont think it has much to do with her's or your sexual preference. More an outgoing, maybe drug induced, personality LOL
