yes.there's indeed roaming charges for sms (short messages service).the charge for sending a SMS is as per the roaming network's SMS charges.which is based on your call partner's SMS charges + applicable tax + a little % of your network providers surchages.

Do you get charged for calling him, thought not. Then there won't be any roaming charges for texting. BTW roaming is used in context when you are using a cell tower in which your phone company doesn't have a contract with. Therefore are roaming on their tower.

No there is no roaming charges. they just charge you for them unless you have umlimited text messaging.
