Lets get one thing straight right off the bat. Just because you're short doesnt mean you have a small pelvis. My bfs mom was a midget way under 5 ft tall and had a whopper of a baby with his younger brother-11 lbs!! Your position during labor/birth makes a bigger difference than your height-insist on squatting-you wont b able 2 have an epidural that way but that position gives u like 30% more room and also shortens the birth canal by half!! Who would want 2 deliver flat on their backs knowing that?
I got my labor started with the castor oil/oj with my 2nd pregnancy bc I was overdue about the same as you-I had very gentle labor off and on 4 about 3 days. It prolly wont hurt ne thing as long as u dont use more than 2 tablespoons to 8 oz of OJ. Yes, u will sit prolly about 30 mins in the bathroom, but may be the nudge u need 2 get it going. Also, the sex thing is good also 4 getting the cervix ready just as castor oil will.
Some of us just need an extra lil push 2 get the ball (baby) rolling!! Good luck!!

I have a niece whos name is Shayla I hope if you have a girl you name her that it is a very beautiful name and means big eyes in arabic, any way rasberry tea is supposed to work ,or relations but most of the time ,time is the best if the doctors are okay with the delay patience only god knows what still needs to be ready for your arrival,if the docs see a problem they should induce if it's your first baby late is very normal, enjoy this it will seem like you where never preg once the blessing arrives.God Bless you all with a comfortable and safe delivery

Pineapple juice, spicy foods, sex will also work as semen has a homrmone that brings on labor, orgasm also causes uterine contractions which can lead to labor contractions. Rasberry tea is also supposed to work. Try lots of walking. I understand the feeling of being uncomfortalbe as I've had four children myself in the past four years. However, I would'tn be concerned about the baby being too big to come out. If there was any real concern of that happening your doctor would have noticed by now and would have made arrangements to either induce or schedule a c- section. Good luck to you. Congrats on your lil miracle.

Ah, I remember the feeling all too well!
I went down to my health food store and bought some real licorice, the real stuff, black and all natural! I ate 5 stick of it! About 5 hours later I was in the hospital having regular contractions. Licorice stimulates the colon which is close to the uterus. Some people tell you to drink caster oil to give you diarrhea, DON'T. It could bring on heavy contractions. Licorice really worked for me, it's a mild way to stimulate your bowells.
Good Luck!
And remember, when you relax and realise baby will come when she comes, she will!

Try having sex. Semen contains prostaglandin, the same hormone that they place inside you to thin the cervix when enducing labor. If you are able to acheive orgasm that can get the contractions started. You might also try stimulating your nipples, that releases oxytocin and that is the hormone that starts contractions. Pitocin is a manmade form of oxytocin that is given by IV when doing an induction. I know that it is hard to feel "in the mood" when you are so huge, but if it works then it is well worth it! Good luck.

It's different for everyone. Sex works for some people, others swear that the baby came after they walked around the block. But my suggestion? Try it all. Check out all the home remedies you can!
The only thing I would NOT recommend is castor oil. You'll spend the night in the bathroom, not in the maternity ward.

To be honest with you I really don't think anything is really going to help, I mean yeah walking is supposed to help bring the baby down a little but I believe the baby comes when the baby wants to I know how it feels, been there done that but just be patient. I am suprised that your doctor hasen't suggested inducing you if your that over due why don't you ask him/her if they will. Good luck.

Ugg i know i just passed my due date. I been having tons of sex, walking ,eating pineapple, taking warm baths..nothing works! I wouldn't try castor oil because you'll get diarrhea which can dehydrate you and make you weak for labor. I just talk to the baby every day and ask him if he wants to come out...so far....nuthin...
Good Luck and congratulations!
