you need to get:
micro-SD transflash card (comes with adapter) get the 512 MB ones should cost $20-30 -- or 1 GB ones are better
a SD card reader (unless your computer has a SD card slot already) should connect with USB
1. put the flash card in your phone and format it
2. turn off phone, remove flash card, put in card reader, connect to computer - flash card should show up on "My computer" or your desktop
-- locate files you'd like to transfer.
3. transfer photos (.jpg) or music files (.mp3) to card
make sure that the files have the correct suffix (.jpg or .mp3). For macs, you need to add .mp3.mp3 to the end of the file name. make sure your file names are short and don't have any funny characters.
4. eject disk, remove flash card and place it back in your phone
5. turn on phone
6. go to "sounds" and select file, press play. you can even make playlists and have it "shuffle" through them randomly
7. if you want pics as your wallpaper, go to settings, personalize, select wallpaper, select transflash card and select your pic
good luck, this phone has a great mp3 player -- especially if you have those headphones that are really good. the kind with the microphone & push button so that you can go easily between your phone calls and your music
be careful with transflash cards, they're fragile and make sure you always put them in using the right orientation
email me if you have Q's, i probably forgot something
