Someday, we may be able to make a new atmosphere for Mars, but it will suck if that turns out to be a tremendous waste of time and Mars loses that one too.
Home sweet home, there's no planet like earth. I'm staying here. Although I wouldn't mind visiting space for some zero-gravity fun... maybe join the 30-mile-high club. haha
Oh, and your question about the future. Yes, we are travelling to the future. In ten years, it will be almost 2017. We're getting there, day by day.
If you want to go faster... well, it might not be impossible. There are tiny particles that travel through time everywhere. But the problem is getting anything that's not microscopic to do it.
Travelling to distant galaxies is just as hard as travelling through time. They are so far away, that you will take millions of years to get there unless you figure out a way around the universal speed limit: the speed of light. Once you can travel faster than light, you can visit anywhere in the universe and can actually travel through time. Wormholes may exist that can help us get around the speed limit.

Starting in around 2008 or 2009, some companies are letting some passengers go into space using spaceships. These are PRIVATE (not government) spaceships. The catch is, seat space is limited and are in high demand. Each spaceship will take at most 20 people i think. Also, most of the seats are already booked. It will cost an insanely high price that normal people definitely cannot afford. Think of it this way, I don't think you will be able to get on it if you are not Bill Gates. Anyways, the plan for some of these companies is to go to space for maybe 20 min and then go back to earth. For other companies, however, they plan on going all the way to the International Space Station or around it. Right now, even the government is having a hard time landing on the moon. Heck, did they ever? Did Neil Armstrong really make it on the moon or was it a fake set up on Earth that deceived people for 3 decades? Anyways, I don't think humans have ever landed on the moon, but I they have reached space. As our technology becomes more high tech and cutting edge, we will develop many ways to get to where was once thought of as science fiction. It might take years, decades, who knows?

Yes. A much cheaper way to get into geostationary orbit than rockets should be up and running within 20 years; the Space Elevator. Fission and fusion powered rockets should make cheap, rapid transport around the solar system possible within at most 50 years. So with continuous acceleration you'd be able to get to Titan within a week, not a few years. But travel beyond the solar system could be a much tougher problem. We haven't yet got a clue how to exceed the speed of light. If present ideas are correct, we may always have to rely on suspended animation and decades-long trips to get to the stars, as in Rendezvous with Rama, by Arthur C. Clarke.

Like 'From the Earth to the Moon' or '2000 Leauges Under the Sea'?
You know, futuristic devices that let us traverse the ocean depths and rocket us into space?
Of course we'll be able to do these things. Relativity is an impossibly tall hurdle, but no where is it written that we can't go around it. That's what science is about, groping in the dark to find the limits and trancend them.

No. It requires huge amounts of energy and technology just to overcome the gravity of Earth. We can dream of "beaming" all over the place, but for some rather complex reasons, light speed travel and interplanetary travel, will never be as common as air travel today. We simply do not possess the energy resources that would require. Dare to dream, but realize that it is a dream that will never come to pass. Time travel? Not in the way I think you are thinking of it. If you are a person travelling through space at or near the speed of light, time for you, will stand still. For the rest of us...it goes on. If you return to point of departure 100 years later, time for you will be...time travel. Don't try going back though. What has past...has past.

but yes, one day we human race will be able to travel to the moon and other planets in one way or another, normal or not. it is a question of when....

I think in the future probably after I'm dead and gone we will find a way to propel oursselves outward into the solar system while I don't think any of us incuding our grand children and great grandchildren will ever leave the solar system I think we will find a way traverse the milky way as easily as we fly from NY to LA.

Probably not.
The cost is way to high for "normal" travel.
However, I did read of someone (a civilian) who paid a huge price to travel into space recently.
Considering that there are only about 500 Million of us that didn't get this wonderful opportunity, I don't think it is a trend that is being set for the future.
Look at it like this...If your toilet is made of solid gold, you might get a shot at going to the Moon. Otherwise forget it.
