No, I would not be pleased. However, there is no husband in the picture right now, and when my children asked, I requested practical gifts for Christmas. My list includes bath towels, kitchen towels, candles, etc. I also asked for a Lowe's or Home Depot gift card for some odds and ends to do some minor repairs. The only "personal" items I asked for were bath sets - gels, lotions, bath oils, etc. and pajama pants.

I gave them a broad price range, and I'd be pleased with any of it.

My clothing and jewelry I'd rather pick myself.

I would be so thrilled I wouldn't be able to use it !! He would have to iron all his own things. I don't think I would EVER get over it. I couldn't even begin to tell you how much he would use that board.

I have heard that if you can find a real soft pad for them, they are not bad to sleep on either.....

Look my Mum has brought me the following for christmas in the past....

Potatoe peeler
4 irons
A set of taps for the bath, the telephone set sort
A slo cooker
A Veg steamer
Kitchen clock
Kettle
T Towels

So i am actually missing an ironing board. As for husband he is ex, past, he is no more, not dead just busy having another life inspite of his kids.

Not really... It's almost like buying acurling iron for your husband.. If you want to give her a practical gift like an ironing board, make sure you buy a primary gift so you won't look clueless like many men... :)

I reckon they would but only if they had an iron too. Without one it's a bit of a useless present. Lovely crisp shirts for Boxing Day. Get in!

Well I have one that tops that...one of my daughters was born in Nov so for Christmas I got an exercise bike AND a Vaccum cleaner from my husband! Was that a subtle hint I was fat and needed to clean house??

As a bloke I would never buy my partner a ironing board

Not as thrilled as he would be when I whacked it round his head! (Followed closely by the iron!). Absolutely not, I think that presents should be personal, (unless you want something specific).

No I most certainly would not!

Perfume, flowers, sexy underwear, a surprise holiday, jewellery.....etc are things that should be brought for someone you love.

How would the husband like a sink plunger or some jump leads for heavens sake!!!!

I don't know about thrilled but if I needed one I would be appreciative.

As the years go on, all the gifts will not be exciting.
