What does it smell like? if it smells heavily of gasoline (you'd probably say petrol) it could br excess fuel getting by the piston rings. That could be a result of worn rings, bad pressure regulator, or fuel pump (on normally aspirated engines)

If the oil looks a bit milky head or gasket is going bad.

Mechanic 31 years ?? That be PCV valve,. Positive Crankcase Ventilation and that sounds like your problem. The valve sounds like it's stuck closed. when you slow a bit the crankcase is building pressure and forcing oil into the combustion chamber.. When you accelerate the oil burns with the petrol and makes smoke. Try changing the pcv valve, they are low price item. Go buy one then you will know what you are looking for, should be on top of the valve cover.

you probably did no longer point out something appropriate to the air temperature till now to procure into the vehicle. became it nippy, frosty, or warmer than the placement "downstairs"? in case you will discover your breath, you will see the vehicle"s breath. it somewhat is condensation from moisture contained in the exhaust pipe/muffler. as a result exhaust structures rust out. It takes approximately 5 miles of utilising to get each and all the moisture out of your exhaust. Watch different automobile tailpipes (it somewhat is lots greater convenient than watching your own as youpersistent) some will smoke a whitish gray and a few will smoke blue(oil burner), some black(choke is caught on or diesel below load so the black is extra gasoline burning in the exhaust pipe as a replace of the engine, and a few won't instruct something because of the fact the engines are warmed up long adequate so as that the moisture is out(however the autos are nonetheless giving off risky CO2 and poisonous CO on a similar fee because of the fact the seen smoke ones. previous automobile or form new, in case you burn gasoline you pollute.

Do an oil change, I've got a vectra 2.0 gls and it behaves similarly when a change is due. First time I changed the oil pump too just to be on the safe side.

Oil Blow By...when you take the car in, have them check your valve seats...if you're blowing blue smoke you'll go through a quart of oil in no time.

Keep an eye on your oil levels until you get it fixed.

You are having a head gasket that is getting worse and worse. Get it fixed asap, or lose the whole engine.
