you`ll do fine RM, perfect what you`ve done, would be good if you left it turned off overnight in room temperature.
have a great Christmas!

Sorry to hear about the loss of your wine.
It might take a while for the keyboard to dry completely. You might be lucky this time.
I have had success in placing a laptop in a warm oven for 20 mintues. Remove the battery before putting it in the oven. The oven should be OFF, and the racks just cool enough to touch. The whole laptop should feel warm to the touch. Wait about ten minutes before putting the battery back in and turning on the power. Check every key on the keyboard, by opening Word or other program, and typing every letter, number and other symbols. Usually groups of keys fail.
In general, you should adopt a personal computer safety rule.... NO liquids should be consumed near the laptop. The loss could be in the HUNDREDS. For a desktop, a Keyboard is just $20, but a laptop could be a total loss.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Good job turning it over. It's key not to get any into the guts of the computer. If you have a bit of PC knowhow, take the keyboard off ( a really easy job) and gently wash the bottom off with a slightly damp soft cloth. We all know how sticky wine can be, and you don't want this causing you problems down the road. Good luck.

There is a chance that some damage may have occurred, it is tough to say (since i'm just a guy at a computer somewhere in the world...). Good job on quickly drying up what wine was spilled on the computer. I would take it to a repair place and just get them to look inside to make sure nothing was too seriously damaged.

Don't tell my boss - I spilt Ribena over my work laptop. After it dried out it seemed fine... and then the stickiness started.
You can prise the keys off the keyboard (make sure you remember which ones go where!) and then gently clean using cotton buds and make-up remover. Wine isn't nearly as sticky as Ribena, but you still might need to do some cleaning.
Good luck!

Use a hair drier, pop out the key from the keyboard and dry it good. Be careful that you might be electrocuted, I don't think that will happen but if you want to be alive for christmas 2006 you better be careful with that key board.

I had my laptop covered in water (more like juice) and it anilated it for sure. I would take it to an IT guy or company and have them look at it and clean it because it got in the keyboard and below the keyboard is the motherboard and when that gets wet you are just about done.

oops! removing each key would be a tedious job, so i say that you leave it alone. i've dropped coke on my old laptop many times, all i did was turn it upside down for a while, then take a cloth and wipe each key so that it doesn't become sticky. but there might be a chance of your keys getting jammed because of the stickiness.
good luck with it anyways

Pop out the keys & mop it up. Might be worth taking the batteries out & leaving it to dry, just to be on the safe side. But should be fine.
