Get a wireless router. This will allow you to have your PC connected, and your new laptop connected through the wireless port.
I recommend that you get a LinkSys Wireless router. For a laptop, I recommend Toshiba.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Assuming you have high speed Internet connection (DSL or Cable)...
You would purchase a router (about $40-$50) and install the cable from the DSL or Cable modem into the back of the router. The router will have additional ports for connecting your PCs so they can all access the Internet at the same time. If you laptop includes a wireless card, be sure that the router is "wireless" also. Then once attached to the DSL or cable modem, it will broadcast a wireless that the laptop can use. Price is about $5 to $10 more for the wireless router.

Sorry to be a bore but it depends on how your PC is connected. If dial-up you need a modem for the laptop (if not provided) and need to configure your connection. If it's on a LAN then connect via cable. If it's wireless then you need a wireless card and to configure your connection. It's rarely very simple in my experience even with all the kit. I've done lots of this sort of thing for friends and family. The best thing you can do if you are a novice is to get a friend who knows what they are doing to sort it for you. Otherwise ring your provider.

to connect with the internet you desire a sign. it somewhat is oftentimes dial-up, dsl, or broadband. Broadband is the quickest connection, and is oftentimes provided via your interior of sight cable company. on the thank you to connect with the internet with 2 computers you desire a modem, a router, and a instantaneous card. maximum modems now a days contain a router geared up in. The modem container could plug into the ethernet or usb port on your laptop. Then the router could deliver a similar sign on your laptop(oftentimes everywhere interior of 250 feet). Your laptop could recieve the sign from the router via a instantaneous card, it somewhat is oftentimes an ethernet card too. As I pronounced this works terrific with a severe velocity broadband connection.
