I did it every year! I would use a box cutter to cut the tape, then carefully unwrap the end to see what I got, and then precisely rewrap and retape. It got to the point my parents would buy the presents but leave them at my grandmother's or aunt's house until Christmas Eve.

Oh, they are very curious little rug-rats out there ... and that is why parents say that they can pick a little present to put besides their beds, and open on Christmas Eve ...

I used to start looking in cupboards from around mid-November.
My parents best trick was to "hide" my bike in the hallway. Then they said they were looking after it for a kid up the road, so I wasn't to say anything. Worked a treat.
