They're good, but not the greatest. Well, actually I shouldn't say they aren't the greatest because to me it's just too hard to decide on one clear-cut favorite in all of Rock history.

To me they were a really good band mixing that whole trippy feel of Pink Floyd (just for comparison purposes, not influential as LZ was first) with the harder lines of Black Sabbath (ditto other parenthesis) which really made for a distinct sound, a great example being LZ2.

But you have to wonder what they'd be doing today if John Bonham hadn't died which I frequently find myself thinking about. They'd probably have released more records to start with and more hits as well. Not to mention they would've been like Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock had they been in full swing at LiveAid back in '85. They're a good band, but the hands of fate had their fair share along with the rest of the great bands out there.

the Led's music is and will all way's be timeless.they took music to alevel that was before it's time i know alot of kid's now that can name all there song's an know the lyric's to them.not bad for a band that's not been around for over thirty year's.and Jon bonnom was in my mind the greatest drummer of all time. with the second runner up is his son Jason wich play's with the group foriener. There are no longer any bands that sound like Led Zeppelin. that's why they are so remarkable. they have a valid that may not be able to be reproduced. anyhow, i think of you will desire to first dig deeper into Zepp's catalog, and additionally %. up a number of Robert Plant's solo stuff. additionally, John Paul Jones is in a sparkling band called Them Crooked Vultures (i'm specific you have heard of them through now), and that they are particularly stable. you apart from mght would desire to %. up some Hendrix. My prominent Jimi Hendrix album is Are You experienced.

Led Zeppelin planted a milestone, and forever changed the sound, and look of "classic rock". I love them, Robert Plant, is one of the most talented vocalists ever - truly a blues singer at heart. And Jimmy Page is one of the best guitarists ever. I have immense respect for them as a group, and individually. One of my favorite all-time bands, EVER.

Their music still stands the test of time. They were one of the best groups of the day...I love it when younger people discover how great "the oldies" are! You just can't find music like Stairway to heaven out there any more. Although I admit I like alot of the music coming from bands like Nickleback. Don't limit yourself!

I liked 'em. But they were no better than many others of that era. Iron Butterfly was very good as were Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship, The Doors (Paint it Black is one of my all-time faves) and many more. Then there were the Greatful Dead. I mean, who else do you know who's had an ice cream named after him (Ben and Jerry's "Cherry Garcia")?
