A You only notice the people you disagree with. An actual count of each side might be revealing but hard to measure.
B reality has a distinct non religious bias, and a much greater bias against those who would hide from it, or use propaganda to make it harder for folk to see it.
C. The only folk who hate the US are usually neither liberal or American. The almost only folk in America who hate American Values call themselves Conservatives, and/or Christians, though many others claim them to be neither. Most people everywhere hate the Gang Of Predators running America through the mud.
People who actually support troops also support things like enough armor for the troops, seeing that they have an honorable doable job, making sure that the Geneva conventions mean something, so our troops are less likely to be tortured, and seeing that the troops are actually supported like with medical support etc, not just ballyhoo parades, or empty wishes, when they come home. The GOP has worked against all those things.
Even Ronald Reagan met the caskets at Dover air station and went to funerals and memorials, as did Clinton and all before him. No one ever banned the respect of a public arrival till now.
Supporting the Liberal American values of freedom and real democracy is what liberals have been about since the first liberal president, George Washington.
Seeing ways to improve freedom and democracy, and often doing so, from ending slavery to voting rights for all, is what Liberals have always been about. Fighting such improvements has always been what Conservatives were all about.

Are left wingers the opposite of the "good old fashioned pro USA good old folks"? Phrasing your question like that might get you a negative answer.
Maybe the right of center folks are in church or are fighting on the front lines rather than provoking people online.

Oh Bullshit! If everyone is left of center then why do we have hateful questions like these and I am constantly getting thumbs down for my liberal answers.
Get a clue. You are obviously the one who hates Americans. Part of being in America is respecting other people's views and the right to say those views publicly.

Many of us are ashamed at what this administration is doing in our name: an illegal occupation of a sovereign nation, with the deaths of 700,000 people (and some of our troops); torture at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo (are you proud of your country, a supposed democracy, engaging in torture?); tax cuts on the wealthiest among us; the tragedy of abandoning the survivors of Katrina; the attempt to commercialise and privatize our national park system, and the looting of our treasury, running up the largest national debt in the history of this country.
Frankly, I'm ashamed to be an American. Please don't tell me to "go somewhere else." I'm an American. I have loved my country in the past, when more sane politicians were in power. The criminals running our country now deserve nothing short of impeachment. I hope America will once again be a great nation, but I am having my doubts.
I'm ashamed to be an American. I don't want torture in my name. I don't want illegal occupations in my name. I don't want increases in the ranks of the poor in my name.

Every "How dumb is Bush?" is countered by "Why do liberals want to kill babies?"
