Maximize the window for good?

I have a Windows XP Computer. The program itself doesn't really matter because this applies to any of my applications, but anyway...Whenever I open up Firefox I need to click the maximize button because it always opens up in that "restored down" form. How do I make it so that whenever I open up the program it will automatically fill the whole screen?

Use the mouse to resize the window. Drag it to one of the corners til you see a resize arrow, hold down the left mouse button and drage the Window to the appropriate size. Close the Window and reopen.

Make sure you only have one browser Window open.
