My b/f is all into in sodoku and he bought me a book and i can't seem to get into it cause i don't understand it what is the method of figuring out how to do it?

LOl, hubby and I are sudoku nuts! I have a handheld, have it on computer (3 dif proggys even), on my PDA, and books, books and more books.....

Here are some tips:
1) first, each horizontal row, vertical row, and group of 3x3 squares can only have one occurrence of each number, 1-9.
2) start by looking at the top three horizontal rows, in sections of 3 vertically. Here, I found a website that explains it well ....

In every row and in every column the numbers 1 through 9 are arranged, but not repeated . Also in every seperate box is 1-9 without repeating. Can be logically fugured out

oh, i don't understand how it became all the rage. it's just a puzzle for goodness sake. but the basics are that you have numbers 1-9, and in each big square you use each number once, and you use each once horizontally and vertically.

funbrain.com has one that has hints on it, that helped me figure it out. It still isn't fun but at least I can do it now.
