Ah, people contradict themselves all over the place. There's nothing wrong about Rowling's series, but the people who hate it can just shut the (a-HEM) up, because the last book's coming out around July, and it'll all be over soon enough. People got all upset because they didn't like the evil magic and things, though they thought the same for Lord of the Rings. If they don't like it, then they shouldn't watch it and/or read it, unless they adhere to "Know thine enemy" or something...

I think it is because in Harry Potter, magic is actually studied: potions, spells, apothecary, dark magic, etc, whereas in Lord of the Rings the magic is actually a part of the creature - the elves, the wizards. But Harry is set in modern times and Lord of the Rings is in the past. I also find that a lot of people that talk down Harry have never even read the books, The opinion is built all on hearsay. I enjoy the books and encourage my children to read Harry as well as Lord of the Rings (although, they have leaned more toward Harry and would just rather watch LOTR).

I agree with you. There was a lot of controversy in regards to Harry Potter when the books first came out. I have seen most of the movies, I enjoyed them. I did not see evil in them.

I agree that the 1st e book became no longer 'outstanding'. even nonetheless, you're able to do no longer forget that Rowling all started writing for a youthful purpose audience. And as that purpose audience grew, she wrote the books in greater of way they could delight in. I study the entire series this 12 months, and located that the 1st 2 weren't all that good, however the series gets so lots greater effective. close to the tip of the fourth e book it stops being approximately "Potter is going to college", yet extremely appropriate to the paranormal international attempting to combat evil. The later books in the series are honestly properly worth examining! they're remarkable!

They believe that the writer of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling, worshipped the devil. I don't know how that all got started though.
