Today is Christmas Eve. I dont have a gift for my mom yet. I dont have any money (but I could borrow some from my 9 year old brother). My Dad doesnt want to take us to get her a gift and she said she'll be sad if I or my two brothers dont get her anything. Im not sure what to do. I'm writing her a letter...but what should I do? Is that enough?

A letter with all you best wishes and the sweet words to your dear mom. I think she will understand and accept it very merrily.

I think Dad needs to get off his behind and take you kids shopping for Mom,that is plain wrong. I would make her a card and put in the letter that you will do some chores around the house without being asked if she makes you up a list. I hope this works, and sorry Dad is NOT being cooperative. I would drive you if I knew you lived near by. Merry Christmas and be sure to give Mom a HUGE hug ok?

Well Christmas is about giving but you don't always have to buy a gift. Make her little coupons. For example make her a coupons that says "redeem this coupon when you want me(as in you) to cook dinner." or make one to redeem for you to wash the dishes or clean the house or go grocery shopping or anything else that you could do to help your mom. OR you could give her a gift that a friend of yours may have brought you for Christmas or something of yours that your mom has always wanted but you never let her even touch it.

speaking as a mom, i can tell you that many of us just want to be thought of and respected. all moms need a little help now and then. how about giving her a hand made coupon book. each coupon good for a kind of "chore". dish washing, making dinner, doing errands, babysitting. well, you get the idea.hope this helps. i'm sure no matter what you do, she'll love it.

Make a coupon book, that would be perfect. Types of coupons to include: One night off where I will babysit my brother. One night where I will cook dinner. One free car wash. One free car cleaning on the inside. Vaccuum the entire house. Clean the windows. Give you a manicure. Think of all the things she needs help with or likes for you to do that you don't do often and make coupons.. you make them fancy and print off online or get some construction paper and make them.

I think a letter would be nice, you can tell her how much you love her and how she has made Christmas fun for you.. Maybe you can put a IOU for a lunch that you make and sever to her.
