It depends what type of computer screen you have, but on most, a magnet of even minor attraction will permanently damage your computer screen. A computer repair specialist that specializes in displays may be able to help you, but otherwise I do not think that there is any other way to get it off. Good luck, and happy holidays!

Most monitors have a degaussing option in the on screen setup, do that a couple times. If that doesn't work, try moving the magnet around the spot have the magnet an inch or two away from the screen, sometimes that will help. Then try degaussing again,, may not help though if it has been there for quite a while. Good luck.

a magnet is the best and simplest way of wrecking a computer just touch a kind of large permanent one to the side of a hard drive or a CD or floppy and you will see it all disappear in an instant.
as for your screen who knows just be thank full the hard drive works

Yes. If the discoloration did not go away immediately after the magnet was removed, then it probably never will. Magnets will permanently damage monitors.

YES, if you have a CRT monitor, there's a degausser feature built in. it might help if you select the menu, and reset it. It would depend on ur monitor's features...It just might help.

itll eventually go away...justt dont do it too much and dont put it on the tower, it may erase data you have saved...
