Spending time with my family, and not arguing. watching all the kids open presents and seeing the joy on their faces. Knowing my Mom loves Christmas just like I do even though we both complain about how much of a pain in the a** it is.

Christmas to me means remembering the Birth Of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
I along with many others, do sometimes buy much more than I should for people at Christmas.
But, I and my family read about the Birth of Jesus (before any gifts are opened) and put an emphasis on how when he could have been born in the finest settings, with the most beautiful home and expensive clothing and items around him, he was not. He was born in in most simple and poor conditions, with loving animals around him. Then we pray and thank God and Jesus for the ability to be able to give gifts.. however large or small.
It really leaves an impact on me that when we all reach for the "best" in life, the best may be the most simple things in the world: Love, mercy and forgiveness toward our fellow humans. Understanding and reaching out to know we may all be divided by color, ways of living, but we are all brothers and sisters and made in the image of the only God. So, my prayer and hope for this coming year is to try to live my life so that people will remember that and reach out a helping hand to all... If only one person is affected by my efforts, or I am affected by their kindness, then it is a step in the right direction.
Merry Christmas to all ........

Getting gifts and presents is nice and all, but being with your family is much better. If you take away your family where would you be?
