Give him or her a hug and tell them not to take it to heart. If it happened to me, I'd feel sad and cry.

Thank God that i live in a country where this behavior is severely punished:we don't have discrimination of any kind at all,
But if I would life there i would defend the person at all cost.I do carry myself very well and am afraid of no one:and make sure i sharpen my tongue before i leave my house,I make fools and meatloaf of bigots and bullies as hobby.

Work for the US govt and be a white male you will see discrimination at its worse. The white male is going extinct in Federal positions. They are discriminated against anytime a white female or someone of another race is vying for the same position.

Discrimination at school, on the job, or in housing based on race, religion, or national origin is illegal in the United States. A lawsuit would be appropriate.

For verbal, ignore the fools and carry on like before. For physical, I'm fighting back. I don't care if they try to sue me, they were harassing me.
I already answered about a loved one being bullied about in your other question "question for gay men".

If it was severe, I will file a law suit, but it was minor, I would ignore the person doing this to me.
