My husband has been deployed and I do not have any family or friends here. Is there a safe way to find a birthing coach so I am not alone?

I wish i knew where you were it would be easier to give advice, but if you know no one search out a women's center,Tell them your story and where i work you`d have a pile of volunteers, for most of us are there for allot of clients birthing..just because they need not us but support and we are all mothers ourselves.if you can`t find one,ask your doctor, and i have also heard that the nurses in most hospitals will work with you but these days things are so busy you never know..I wish you luck and wish i could be with you.My son could be with your husband out there somewhere..Hugs

The best thing is to ask your doctor or a hospital. They usually have a list of birthing coaches....Good Luck to you and your husband and happy holidays

You can get a birthing "Doula". They are there specifically for you during pregnancy, labor, delivery and post partum. I am studying to become one...They really are wonderful.
You can either go to the Doulas of North America (DONA) website to find one or you can just google Doulas and the name of the state you live in.
They are great because you get to know them before you go into labor and they are great coaches!
Good luck and Congratulations!

The best thing for you to do is contact the hospital that you are going to give birth at. Birthing centers also have wonderful resources for this type of thing.

Try to find a doula in your area. They are trained to help women in labor, and make good birth coaches.

You should ask your doctor on at your next appt, they should provide birthing services, or check with the hospital at which you will deliver.
