Your baby is your Jesus. You'd better feed him well with good food and information. In the womb and afterbirth. If your just worried about gaining weight, then your just thinking about yourself, and there are safe excersizes you can do while pregnant to make you and your baby healthier. Meditation and non-strained stretches will not only help you keep weight off, but is also wonderous for stress relief. Eating considersably healthy is also a plus in pregnancy or not, so look at this as a opportunity to turn any bad habits to good and stay where you feel most comfortable fulfilling this new life. God bless, and happy motherhood!

Actually, anything you eat or drink can have an affect on your baby. Everything you consume (including inhale) can filter through the placenta into the baby.

However, the placenta is incredibly effective in filtering out anything that has harmful effects, so I doubt pepper would have any negative effect. I would be much more concerned about drugs and alcohol, which do pass on to the baby, and can have extremely serious impact on the child after its been born.

Your best bet is to talk with your obstetrician about a healthy diet for you and your baby, during the pregnancy and during breast feeding.

And I wish you a happy pregnancy and delivery...

Happy Holidays.
