# Soak your feet. Using a liquid soap in the water makes the feet much softer. Any pedicure soak, shampoo, handwashing soap or even dishwashing liquid are fine.
# Feel the skin on your foot to decipher which areas have callused skin and which are fine. The most commonly affected areas are the ball of the foot, the heel and the sides.
# Take your foot and put it on the opposite knee. Flex your foot so that the ball of the foot comes outward. Holding the scraper with the back of it towards the foot, shave off the skin in a downward motion. Shave off until there is no more callused skin to remove; the foot should be smooth.
Use a pumice stone and moisturize before you go to bed - I use vaseline and then put my socks on...

Don't over exfoliate, it encourages new skin growth which is the opposite of what you want to happen. Once a week is enough. You can also get some cream from the doctor or chemist which contains urea, a natural softening substance found in skin. Apply twice a day after washing your feet. If after a couple of weeks it's still the same, you need to visit a chiropodist to see if there is an underlying issue.

Try using a "udder cream", it can be purchased at WalMart, or a store where farm animal equipment is sold.It is natural, full of skin repair ingredients, and helps with skin elasticity to keep the skin looking young and reducing lines.
Udder Cream was originally used by dairy farmers to keep udders in good condition, but worked so well as a moisturizer, people started using it on their skin. This works!! and its inexpensive.

Before you shower, take a lemon and cut in half, rub the lemon juice all over the rough and hard skin till it's soaked in. Let is stay on there about five minutes before getting in the shower. In the shower, use a pumice stone to GENTLY rub the loosened skin. You will need to repeat several times a week, but that's okay cuz lemons are cheap. The lemon process works great on overly dried elbows too. Let it dry and leave it on.

While in shower/bath use a pumice stone on heels. At night slather your heaviest cream on heels put old socks on to bed. This is a good way to maintain soft nice feet between professional pedicures.

Soak your feet in a warm foot bath with a cup of milk in it. The milk will make your feet very smooth. Scrub your feet with a pumice stone or with a scrubbing lotion but if you don't the stone or scrub, you can make your own scrub by taking a regular body lotion and adding some sugar to it. The sugar crystals will act as the little rocks do in a scrub. When you are done, apply a lotion to your feet to make the really soft. To make them as smooth as a baby's bottom, put on some more lotion right before you go to bed and put on some warm, fuzzy socks to lock in the moisture. When you take your socks off the next morning, the skin on your feet will be sooooo smooth and soft!!!!!

There is this little tool, I'm not sure what it's called, but it looks like a mini cheese grater. They sell them at most dollar stores. Also, pumise stones work ok. After you scrub off all the hardened skin, put lotion on right before bed. Before you know it, your feet will be baby soft.

There are some really good foot creams out there to make sure your foot stays nice and soft. You can get this at Sephora maybe and of course Bath and body works. While you shower, remember to scrub the bottom of your foot with a pomice stone. Its a hard stone that helps remove hard skin. Remember to wear comfy shoes too, so your feet dont get caluses.

At the drug store buy a pumice stone and use it on wet feet to slough off the old dry skin. They work really good just like when you get a pedicure.
