I moved around a lot in the beginning of my career and have lost track of where I have worked and what years I worked at a particular job. Now that I must update my resume I need those dates and places? How?

The information is on your Tax Returns, if you kept them.

Also, call/write each of your former employers and request the dates.

Do the best you can. I'm pretty sure no one is going to care where you worked 20 - 30 years ago. Besides, for something that long ago, exact dates aren't important. Your work experience and what you have accomplished are.

If you haven't saved your W2 forms for all those jobs, and who does, or can't remember where you have worked it seems you are up a creek without a paddle. Any ones that you can remember you could try calling them to see if they have records of when you worked. Other than that, ask family members if they have any clue.
