Is it possible to sync your pc (windows) with your mac so that whenever a change is made to a certain folder on the windows platform that it is copied over to the mac. Almost virtualizing a backup HD system.

I dont know if it is possible but it would be a HUGE help because I am always updating my photos, mp3s, and videos on my PC and would love to have that same data present on my macbook and not have to worry about always sending it over.

Any help guys? Thanks!

Dude that makes no sense. By me sending files over to the mac, that wont cause any type of issues with file compatibility.... its universal files im sending over, audio, pictures, and video. all are compatitble with mac

I'm sure there's some little freeware app out there that can run as a daemon (background task) and scan folders and then perform an action if new items are found. I know SuperDuper can do scheduled backupes and you can configure it to only backup a single folder and to store it to a network folder, so that would work, but I don't think it would run on a trigger like a new file being added. It could run automatically every 6 or 12 hours though, which is close to what you're aiming for.

Although that's a Mac app and it sounds like you're wanting the daemon to run on your Windows machine and scan a folder there, no? After some quick searches I found tons of apps that "may" solve the problem better. I'll post some links as I didn't have time to read through the features of each. Good luck and let me know if you find a good solution.
