Well, A represents the number of protons, and Z represents the number of neutrons in an atom, and fusion is when two atoms combine to make one bigger one. So the product will have higher A and higher Z than either of the reacting nuclei, but it will have the same A and the same Z as both reacting nuclei put together. It's not really clear which one is meant by the question.
