I have not had my period since nov. 11th, and I'm usually pretty regular. I keep anticipating it willl come and it hasn't come yet. I got the shot depo-provera, a birth control injection that lasts for 3 months, in August and I was due to get it again on Nov. 9. But I had sex unprotected around that time only twice, and one time my partner "pulled out". This was only like 3 days after the shot was due and I haven't had sex since b/c I need to go in and get the shot. However, could I be pregnant? I got my period all 3 months while I was on the shot. And I heard that it takes awhile to get pregnant after the .last injedction, at least 6 months after. But could I be pregnant? I have no other symptoms other than a missed period---no nausea, no fatigue, nothing, occasional weakness and headache and occasional breast tnderness, but that's it. Does this sound like pregnancy or a missed period?

The first day you are not on birth control, you can get pregnant. Once that day comes, all the protection is out of your system. If you two knew this well enough to pull out, you should have known well enough to use condoms. (sorry)

Also, men release sperm several times before the actual ejaculation, so pulling out is rather moot.

I truly hope everything turns out well for you and that this is only a false alarm. But please, if you are EVER in doubt, protect yourself. The extra 10 seconds it takes to put on a condom is a lot less of a "mood killer" than several hours a night of a screaming baby you were not prepared to have.

Good Luck
You should probably get a pregnancy test, knowing is much better than not knowing, even if you do not get the answer you would prefer.

It could be pregnancy, as anything is possible when not protected. BUT, after the Depo shot, it usually does take a long time to even regulate the periods again. I would bet that you are only missing a period. If you do not have one within a week though, I would get a cheap pregnany test or make an appointment with your doctor. Happy Holidays!

Well with depo you will have spotting, but you won't really have a period. You could always get a pregnancy test if you feel you are pregnant (and take the test before your next depo shot)

Regarding when the shot is due. When I schedule my next depo shot, they told me I have a week to get it done before I'd have to take a pregnancy test. So if they say its due Nov 10th, and you get it Nov 16th, you are still ok because you have that week to get it done.

If you think you are pregnant, get a pregnancy test!

(Miss Jacq, some people get pregnant right away and some take up to years to get pregnant, some even need to go to a fertility specialist. everyone is different, so she should get a pregnancy test.)

Regarding depo provera... Please rethink the depo shot. I was on it for FOUR years and it royally screwed my body up. I gained weight, I was a witch two weeks before my next shot was due, I spotted at inopportune times. After FIVE years you need a bone density check, that's how much depo screws up your system.

It's easy to find out. Just take a pregnancy test. Enough time has gone by that you'd get a definite result one way or the other. Maybe not getting your depo shot affected your period, and it'll resume when you do get it. I wouldn't think that being a couple of days late on the shot would allow you to get pregnant, but anything can happen!

It just sounds like a missed period although some people don't have any symptoms or signs in the first trimester. I haven't had a period since october and i had been off birth control since around july. Go figure. I have done tests but they're all negative. I know exactly how you are feeling. My doctor just says i have an irregular period. I have heard that once you finish your first pregnancy it tends to go to normal.

It doesn't sound like pregnancy to me, just a missed period, the shot can throw your entire body out of wack, i'm on teh shot, and i don't even get a period, the doc said some people experience that while on the shot, it doesnt' mean ur pregnant, but in order to be sure, there's only one thing to do...take a prego test...good luck!

I would take a pregnancy test. That is how I got pregnant with my daughter, in between my two appointments for the shot and still having unprotected sex. So it is possible. Doesn't hurt to check.

The key is what you said "I had sex unprotected around that time only twice"

Nothing and I mean nothing that you mentioned is 100% it only takes one time... count it one time ...to get pregnant. You can have shots, condoms, etc and you can still get pregnant. Best thing is get tested .
recap
1.Nothing is 100% if your protected.
2.pulling out means nothing
3. get tested

This is a no brainer, go to your nearest drug store and
get a urine pregnancy test. They are very accurate 99% plus
if done correctly. Some are as simple as droping a drop of
urine on the testing device.

saying it could take 6 months to get pregnant after your last shot seems stupid. if you couldnt get pregnant, why would you need to go in for another shot?
your body might be a little out of whack if your first shot wore off, or you could just be under alot of stress. take a home pregnancy test just to be sure
