My chiropractor suggested a body pillow. Which the further along I am,(9mths now) I have found throughout the last 3 mths... It also helps my lower back for the pillow to be alittle under my belly and between my knees. The reason for sleeping on your side I believe is to help in blood flow to the baby. I think you are suppose to sleep on the left side? ( Don't take my word on that, ask your doctor) I find it easier for me, to sleep on both sides, especially when my baby is underneath my rib cage! hope this is helpful.

Just get comfy and get lots of rest. Throughout your pregnancy you will natural move into the best positions for sleep. Sleep can be so difficult and light while pregnant that you constantly end up changing positions anyway. Regardless of how you sleep pillows are a must have!

You will reach a point in the pregnancy where sideways is the only possible position to lie in, unless you sleep sitting up because of the heartburn which will also come. Try using pillows to prop yourself against.

On their back or their side is fine, only on side if doctor specifically told you. Just dont let them roll onto their stomachs or put them down on their stomachs.
You can wrap up newborns, so they cant move to far in bed, with blankets. This will help keep them on their side whilst sleeping.

And if its for you as other answers suggest....same applies except you know that sleeping on your stomach will not be an easy or comfortable task. :D

I know it's hard, I always had a hard time with that as well. But the most comfortable way to do it is with lots of pillows. One in front of you to rest your head on, then one between your legs. This was best for me, I hope it helps! And good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

The important thing is you get your rest. Don't worry about how you are sleeping.
