it is not the cold that crackes the block it is the water that is frozen in the block that does it..

if you do not want the block to crack then take masures to keep it warm (inside) or have a boat shop winterize the moter befor you put the boat up for the winter.........

water is your friend in the summer but in the winter it is not friendly at all... good luck

All it has to do is freeze one time to crack a engine block. Seen it a lot of times. I live in ND and if the boat owners don't make sure there is no water left in the block, the first time it freezes it can crack it, and it doesn't have to be full of water. Same thing with car engine too.

Hope it helped

like been said, 1 freeze all it takes. more so if it used in fresh water, salt water doesnt freeze as quick. but will still freeze and crack

remember it also possible to crack a head without it being cold. adding cold water to a hot engine can crack it too. if you run the engine out of water and then add water via a water hose, it can crack the block open.

Nope just one time. You need to have more antifreeze in the radiator than water. When it's really cold the 50/50 rule is not as good as 75/25 Meaning 75% Antifreeze, 25% water. This will give the antifreeze a much lower freezing point I think -50 degrees or more. And I mean really cold like way below freezing

one good hard freeze will do it. as far as the freezing point of 100% pure anti-freeze, it's about minus 50 degrees F. a 50/50 mix is about minus40F. thats all you get. thats why a mix is way better than pure. pure antifreeze will not dissipate heat very well, and the engine tries to run hot;. this is proven.

any good freeze will do it, and the person that said that "PURE anti-freeze will not work as well, it needs some water to react with" IS 100% correct !

no, it only has to get cold enough to freeze one time.
