x mas was initially invitented by those that did not like Christmas (or more specifically Christ) most people today use it as a abbreviation, not realizing its orgin. I however, always make sure to use Christmas for that reason (I have been mainly nice, with a little naughty mixed, how bout you? ^_^)

Some people say that when saying X-mas, one is trying to cut Christ out of Christmas

X-mas is a shortening of Christmas. It seems better to me just to spell out Christmas.

Some people think that putting the X in place of Christ is just an innocent way to abbreviate Christmas. But they're leaving out the most important part of Christmas... CHRIST.
It's Jesus' birthday!!!

"X-mas" is just a short-hand way of writing it. Some people find taking the "Christ" out offensive though. No, I have been a good kid!

Merry Christmas! =D

Well the difference is very clear to see. CHRIST is taken and replaced with an X. Atheist started that many years ago. I don't think that's quite how that word is spelled but anyway they don't believe in putting CHRIST is Christmas. They don't believe in it.
