Its not actually a creature....its the weapon of choice for dealing with screaming banshee's...the banshee bat. Wack!!! Shuddup !!

Have never head of this creature before, but here is what I found Banshee
A type of elven ghost born with an elven woman of noble blood dies while listening to poor music, Banshees are unearthly floating spectral women with bat-wings for ears. Hearing the scream of a Banshee will nearly always cause the listener to die within three days.
Oddly enough, all Banshee are actually male, despite looking female and being spirits born from dead women. This causes some confusion. For instance, Yar the Sorcerial married a Banshee without realizing their peculiar conidition, only to later have the marriage annuled by letting everyone who had witnessed the wedding hear his wedding to hear the wailing of his ghost husband, then flinging the Banshee 10,000 years into the future.

A banshee is a female spirit in Irish Mythology and was an omen of death or a messenger from the other side. Never heard of a banshee bat but a banshee was renowned for her scream or high pitched squeel.
