Not a strange question at all!
I don't think sleeping has anything to do with being able to see. If you think about it, shutting our eyes makes us temporarily blind and it helps those of us who can see to switch our brains off. I think the blind probably sleep even easier than the rest of us.
Sleeping is all about your mind going into stasis - which means it sort of goes on standby mode. The batteries recharge etc.. Some people sleep with their eyes open, some people can sleep in the middle of the day on a sunny beach with children screaming all around them. When your brain (and body) need to reboot, you will just sleep.
It has nothing at all to do with sight - other than the fact that those of us who can see could be more easily destracted and keep ourselves awake longer if we kept the lights on.

Well I am not blind so this answer may not be totally correct. But I would think when a person goes to sleep closing your eyes is only part of the process. Once you lay down you are relaxing yourself and closing your eyes helps. Once you have relaxed totally you fall asleep. Seeing or not seeing will not keep you awake. Sleeping is part of the process we each need in order to live. You get tired and sleeping just rejuvenates you. Being able to see doesn't really play a part. NOT directly anyway. Hope this helped you even if only a little. MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

People that aren't blind can fall asleep with their eyes open, it's not the same kind of sleep but it's still a sleep.
They fall asleep the same way people that aren't blind do, turn off their minds and relax.

Sleeping is not just about resting the eyes. When one sleeps, the whole body goes into hybernation mode where it can rest and recharge. They sleep the same as everyone else, they close their eyes so their eyelids can relax, relax their body and sleep

I guess they sleep with their eyes closed since this would be more relaxed. They would not need a night light unless they could see a little bit.

I'm not sure what you mean by "how do they sleep?". They sleep just like anybody else sleeps.

I guess they nod off the same way you or I do. But I have always wondered what they dream about, if anything, if they were born blind.
