I HAVE A CD AND DVD WRITER ON MY COMPUTER. I CAN COPY CDS NO PROBLEM BUT IF I PUT IN A DVD IT WILL NOT LET ME COPY IT WHY IS THIS. IF I DOWNLOAD A FILM OF THE INTERNET IT WILL LET ME COPY IT THEN

mabe you need a dvd burner and the right programs.
i shouln'd be telling you this but to copy copyrighted films the need the following software:
Nero StartSmart 7
DVD Shrink 3.2
DVD Region+CSS

You cannot straight copy any DVD. You must either compress it first or rip it then record. There are 2 ways I use..... here they are.

Method 1

DVD Shrink with Nero... DVD shrink is free, you must have a version of Nero installed on your computer. DVD Shrink uses Nero to burn.

Method 2.

Any version of Roxio 6, 7 or 8 and DVD Decrypter to rip with.

I use the Roxio one the most, it is faster for me. Good luck.

because a cd writer, or cd player for that matter, cannot read or write the info from a dvd.

if your trying to copy DVD to DVD they come with a copying protection file on them.you need to download a different copying software program.try computeractive.com for this

Firstly get that caps lock key fixed. Is the problem down to copy protection? It's unlikely to be hardware, so I'd suggest DVDShrink software might help you out...
