They used to say born out of wedlock or illegitimate but to me they are still children it doesn't matter as nowadays there isn't such a big taboo weather the parents are married or not, as most parents are not anyway. All that matters is that the child is loved

Most kids are born out of wedlock anyway, and it's not a big deal, so there doesn't need to be a term for them exclusively, as nobody assumes their parents are married especially.

Sorry but changing the name or the term doesn't change the reality of something.
People have the idea that to change the name or term of something makes it sound better all because they don't want to offend someone. Sorry, if someone doesn't like being labeled as something then only THEY can change their status or whatever they are doing.
I have said many times that NO MATTER WHAT SOMEONE SAYS OR DOES SOMEONE WILL BE OFFENDED ABOUT IT. They need to get a life and get over it, why do the minority think they can control what the MAJORITY wants.
And for those that say everyone has their civil rights, yes you are right, but also the rights of the MANY OUT-WAY THE RIGHTS OF THE FEW. In order for you to have your way because of your rights then it will violate someone else's rights, so what about them? You don't want your rights trampled on but you are willing to trample on someone elses to get yours.
WORKS BOTH WAYS.

As far as I'm concerned the only term for children, whether born out of wedlock or to married parents is...children. :)

What's wrong with illegitimate as the legal term, and being polite enough not to mention the fact that their parents aren't married to each other. After all it's got nothing to do with anybody else.

They are children, just the same. They may be illegitimate children but you wouldn't refer to them as illegitimates, merely children. As as far as being mistakes, they are no more mistakes than many children born in wedlock.

When unmarried celebs have them, they used to call them a 'love-child' - but that implies kids in wedlock arent loved!
